Perfect Location in the Aurora Borealis zone

The Northern Lights Ranch boutique hotel is located in the aurora borealis zone in Finnish Lapland, about 190 km North of Rovaniemi and the Arctic Circle. The closest airport is Kittila (KTT), 30 km and a 30-minute drive from us. Additionally, only a 15-minute drive from the Ranch is Levi – a year-round activity resort and the biggest ski resort in the Nordic countries.

Levi is a small holiday town offering a wide range of activities, shops, restaurants, and various other services and experiences to the visitors. During the winter season from 15 November to 31 March we offer our guests a complimentary shuttle service to Levi in the morning and return to the Northern Lights Ranch in the afternoon.

The northern lights or aurora borealis can be often seen in the night skies of Finnish Lapland, when the sky is clear of clouds and the solar activity is favourable. However, the light pollution from the built infrastructure, such as streetlights, ski slopes and housing can blot out the colourful skies. The orange, yellow and light grey colours in the satellite image demonstrate the amount of light pollution in the Levi area. Northern Lights Ranch is located as close as possible to Levi without any light pollution and thus enabling the best chance to see the northern lights.
