Booking your Stay with Us
The best way to get to Northern Lights Ranch is to get flights to Kittilä airport (KTT), which is located 30 km / a 30-minute drive from us. Rovaniemi airport (RVN) is located 190 km / a 2.5-hour drive from us.
The most frequent connections to Kittilä and Rovaniemi are operated by Finnair from Helsinki, but there are direct flights from various other European cities especially during the winter season as well. For those different options we advise to search online at eg. www.skyscanner.com
The night train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi or Kolari (100 km from NLR) is another option to travel to Lapland. More information and bookings can be made from Night trains – VR
Buses operated by Matkahuolto and Onnibus run between Levi and Rovaniemi, with fares starting at approximately 35 €/one way.

Local Transfers and Transportation
We offer private transfers as follows:
- Kittilä airport – Northern Lights Ranch: 110 €/one way or 200 €/return (max. 8 persons)
- Levi Ski Resort – Northern Lights Ranch: 65 €/one way (max. 8 persons)
- Rovaniemi – Northern Lights Ranch: 440 €/one way (1-4 persons) / 500 €/one way (5-8 persons)
- The above transfer prices are valid from September 2025 to April 2026.
- Other transfer requests can be made by contacting us.
A highly recommend option for our guests is to hire a rental car for their entire stay with pick up and drop off at their chosen airport. That gives our guests the best possibility and flexibility of exploring the area according to their own schedule. There are several rental car companies operating in Lapland, but our rental car partner Europcar has special rates for our guests which can be found from HERE.
No. You can book a taxi or rental car or use our shuttle service.
From Levi you can take a taxi to Northern Lights Ranch, which is located 15 km / 15 mins from Levi.
Uber operates also in the Levi area.
During the high season from 16 November to 31 March, we provide a complimentary daily shuttle service:
- Departure from Northern Lights Ranch to Levi Info: 10:15 am
- Departure from Levi Info to Northern Lights Ranch: 3:30 pm
Guests must inform us at least one day in advance to reserve a seat.
Northern Lights & Snow Conditions
The Northern Lights are visible when it is dark between September and April, depending on solar activity and clear skies. It is difficult to determine the best time to see the spectacular nature’s phenomena, but on average the Northern Lights have appeared 2-3 times per week when the weather conditions have been favourable.
We recommend downloading the “Northern Lights Alert” App which you receive instructions for when checking in. Then you will receive real-time alerts from the special Northern Lights camera placed on the property which has been built to detect Northern Lights in real-time. We provide the use of the App as complimentary for all our guests who have made a direct online booking to stay with us. Other guests have the possibility of purchasing the app for 9.90 € for a 48-hour period.
- The period with snow on the ground is usually from November to April. Snow can start falling in Lapland as early as October, and it snows on and off through until April.
- The temperature during Sep-Oct usually varies between 0 C to 15 C and during Nov-Apr between 0 C and -30 C
- In Levi you can still go skiing already from the 2nd week of October until early May due to the snow storing system.
- We do not have clothing rental at NLR. Winter clothing is included in activities provided by our partners.
- If you wish to book thermal clothing for your entire stay, there are several rental shops in Levi
Cabins & Occupancy
All our cabins accommodate two persons, except the Sky View Cabin Double, which has four beds in two interconnecting cabins. Extra beds for 1-3 persons/cabin are available for an additional fee for all cabin types apart from Sky View Cabin Standard.
The extra beds are prepared in advance for the guests using the sofa beds in the cabins. The cost of an extra bed is 85 €/night/person or 72.50 €/night/child (3-12 yo) including breakfast.
- All our cabins are furnished with motorized twin beds placed right next to each other which can also be set separately by request.
- We do not have an option for double or king size bed.
- Extra beds for 1-3 persons/cabin are available for an additional fee for all cabin types apart from Sky View Cabin Standard.
Check-in and Check-out
We try our best to accommodate early check-ins when requested, but cabins are guaranteed to be ready by 4:00 pm. Guests are welcome to relax in our cozy lobby area, restaurant or around the property while waiting.
Late check-out depends on availability. Please check with reception upon arrival.
Facilities and Services
Free parking is available, including charging stations for hybrid and electric vehicles.
The outdoor fireplace is available anytime, and the hut with fireplace near the reindeer corral is open until 10:00 pm.
Our maintenance team is happy to assist. Please ask at reception.
We can store your luggage at reception.

Sky View Cabin Ultimate and Sky View Cabin Double have private saunas.
No, but our separate sauna facilities is available for private bookings.

Yes, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, with consideration for other guests. Please review the general drone regulations:

Sauna and Spa Facilities
The Sauna facilities can be booked online HERE. or by request onsite at least one day in advance.
Available time slots for the sauna bookings are as follows:
- 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
- 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
- 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
- 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm
- Base rate: 175 € (1 person)
- Additional persons: 25 €/person (max. 10 persons)
- Extra rental time: 100 €/hour
Rental includes a private sauna, outdoor hot tub, cold plunge pool, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, towels, bathrobes, and slippers.

Meal Options
- All accommodation bookings include breakfasts.
- Lunch is available daily from mid-November until end of March
- For dinner we have a set 3-course daily changing menu. In addition we also have à la carte Menu
For breakfast and lunch no table reservation is needed. For dinner table reservations are required and can be made in advance online Restaurant – Northern Lights Ranch or by sending us email to info@theranch.fi. We recommend making the table reservations in advance but it can also be done onsite.
Yes, we cater to the needs of special diets and dietary restrictions are always considered. Please just remember to contact us in advance of your needs and preferences by sending us email to info@theranch.fi!
We offer room service. The menu and service hours can always be checked at the reception.

There is no dress code for the restaurant.
